PDF Interior Checker

Check your interior PDF page size, page count and consistency against your chosen trim.

Set your spec, then upload your interior PDF to check it.

Runs entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded. It checks page dimensions and page count only, not fonts, colour space or image DPI. Use the Print-Ready PDF Checker for the full pre-flight checklist.

About this tool

Your text block has to be the right size on every page, or it will not print correctly. This free PDF interior checker reads your interior file and checks its page size and page count against your chosen trim, with an optional 3mm bleed, then confirms every page is consistent. It catches odd page sizes and stray dimensions before they reach the press and spoil a run.

The whole file stays in your browser; nothing is uploaded, so your manuscript never leaves your computer. Note that this is a dimensional check: it verifies page size, page count and consistency, but it does not check fonts, colour or resolution, so confirm those separately. Pair it with our Print-Ready PDF Checker, which covers embedded fonts, CMYK and image quality, for a fuller interior preflight.

  • Export your interior as single pages at one consistent trim size.
  • Only add 3mm bleed if images or backgrounds run to the page edge.
  • Run our Print-Ready PDF Checker too, for fonts, colour and resolution.

FAQ

Common questions

What does the PDF interior checker check?
It checks your interior file's page size, total page count and whether every page is a consistent size, all measured against the trim you choose, with optional 3mm bleed. It flags pages that are the wrong size or inconsistent with the rest. It confirms dimensions and page count, not the content on the pages.
Does it check fonts, colour or image resolution?
No. This tool checks page size, page count and consistency only. It does not verify embedded fonts, CMYK colour or 300dpi image resolution. Those matter just as much for a clean print, so confirm them separately. Our Print-Ready PDF Checker walks through fonts, colour and resolution, so run both before you send your interior to print.
Is my manuscript uploaded anywhere?
No. The check runs entirely in your browser, so your PDF is read on your own device and never sent to a server. Your manuscript stays private to you throughout. That means you can check unpublished or confidential work safely, with nothing leaving your computer at any stage of the process.
Should my interior have bleed?
Only if content runs to the edge of the page. Text-only interiors usually need no bleed, but if you have full-page images or backgrounds that reach the trim, they should extend 3mm beyond it so no white edge appears when cut. Set the bleed option to match how your interior is actually designed before checking.
Why are some of my pages a different size?
Mixed page sizes often come from inserted pages, scanned images or content pasted from another document at a different dimension. Printers expect every interior page at the same trim, so the checker flags any that differ. Re-export those pages at the correct size, then re-check the file here to confirm the interior is now consistent.
